Recently, Velan and Rencor supplied six (6pcs) 24" Triple Offset Valves to a major Paper Mill.
 
Dan O'Leary, Sales Engineer for Rencor worked with the Paper Mill to supply these large Velan TorqSeal Metal seated Butterflies
for Critical control application in facility.
 
Valves are ZERO leakage and have incorporated Special Gear operators that  have infinite opening positions on the Gear for exact control requirements for mill. Dano designed the special Gears to be utilized in the application, this reduced Mill costs, since now only one valve was required not two valves.
The customer knows the position of the disk at all times, yet the stops can be easily reset when flow requirements change.

A Recent order was unique,

The Positioner is Fail Freeze, it locks up on loss of signal.
It has an air supply "lock up" valve
and it has a Gear Override when no air is available.

Problem; Minor Solvent Spills.

Customer routinely draws samples of solvent for testing using manual ball valves. Manual valves are prone to improper operation by not being fully closed, causing frequent minor spills.

Solution: Supply a Manual Spring Return Valve.

By installing spring loaded handle manual valve, a valve that closes every time the handle is released. The human factor that was causing the spills was eliminated. These valves are now the Plant Standard for all sampling point valves. Spills have been virtually eliminated. The valves are API607 Rev 4 Fire Safe Certified, and meet all Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) requirements for the plant as well.
