Velan Power Ball Valve

1. ONE-PIECEFORGED BODY WITH INTEGRAL MOUNTING FLANGE – NO GASKETS.
Offers unique advantages against presently used two-piece bolted ball valves, which according to statements in some other valve manufacturers’ catalogs and instruction manuals, require periodical retorquing after exposure to high temperature.

2. ELIMINATES 3 MAJOR PROBLEMS IN HIGH PRESSURE/TEMPERATURE APPLICATIONS.
a. External leakage. A fully guided stem eliminates packing wear. Live-loaded, precompressed packing rings with dual anti-extrusion rings assures long leakproof operation.
b. Internal leakage.
c. Excessive maintenance.

3. TRUE QUARTER TURN VALVE – LOW TORQUE.
No gear actuators required for valves 1/2–2" (15–50 mm) due to a fully guided stem and life lubricated thrust bearing which reduce torque.

4. ISOLATED BODY CAVITY.
The downstream sealing seat is seal-welded into the body. Ball and seats are in full contact all the time, isolating the body cavity from flow to prevent build-up of solids.

5. RUGGED FULLY GUIDED ONE-PIECE STEM.
Stem material is Gr. A638-660 a super alloy which retains 92% of strength at 1200 ̊F. Bottom and top are fully guided with bushings. This (no wobbling) prevents side loads which can damage packing and cause leakage.

6. 100% FOOLPROOF STEM BLOW OUT PROTECTION.
High stem thrust from internal pressure is borne by:
a) External life-lubricated bearing on stem shoulder.
b) Thesplityokebushingcannotbe removed in-line.
c) Secondary protection with stem shoulder against split gland bushing.

7. SEALING INTEGRITY.
High velocity oxy-fuel chrome carbide coated Inconel ball and seat (Rc. 68) and mate-lapped to perfection ensure:
  • Excellent one-directional sealing. Pressure energized sealing.
  • Resistance to wear and galling.
  • Long service life.

8. INCONEL 718 LOAD RING.
Maintains tight contact between seats and ball protecting seats in an open and closed position. Accommodates high temperature transients, allowing thermal expansion.

9. EMISSION FREE VALVE.
An advanced packing chamber design with a two-piece self-adjusting gland bushing and live-loading provide long lasting, maintenance-free stem packing tightness.

10. INTEGRAL ISO MOUNTING PAD FOR AUTOMATION.
Allows easy change over from manual to automated operation with no extra bracket required. Fully guided oversized stem prevents misalignment between the ball and actuator

11. HANDLE-STEM CONNECTION ADJUSTABLE FOR WEAR.

12. LOCKING DEVICE STANDARD.

13. EXTENSIVE R&D CYCLE TESTING.
1,000 cold and 1,000 thermal cycles with 900 ̊F superheated steam and five blowdowns with "0" leakage.
